How to actively participate in your care: The person at the centre of the cancer experience

Learn practical ways to be a proactive agent of change in your own cancer experience or that of your loved one. This webcast will be lead by Geoffrey Molle and Natasha Sani, from the Community Services Team at LLSC, and will include people impacted by blood cancer. They will offer tips and resources to participate in your own care decisions. Called “self advocacy,” this vital role includes knowing your rights in the healthcare system and feeling empowered to speak up about your personal circumstances and preferences for treatment and care.

Geoffrey Molle is a Community Services Manager at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. With more than 13 years' experience in community organizations supporting people experiencing health or social difficulties, Geoffrey has developed excellent interpersonal skills. As a good communicator who actively listens and empathizes, he knows how to develop supportive and empowering relationships with the people he helps.
Natasha Sani
Natasha Sani
Natasha Sani is the LLSC Community Services Lead for the BC/Yukon region. As a Community Services Lead, Natasha helps those faced with a blood cancer diagnosis to navigate the healthcare system and gain access to programs and resources. Outside of this role, Natasha has a passion for mental health and supports the LLSC’s Virtual Support Group Program and mental health initiatives. She is a candidate for her Master's in Counselling Psychology.
Colleen Mcmillan
Colleen McMillan
Colleen McMillan is the Advocacy Lead at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. In this role, she facilitates LLSC’s Blood Cancer Community Ambassador Program and works with those affected by blood cancers to gather insights and highlight unmet needs. Colleen plays an active role in communicating these experiences to decision makers, ensuring the voices of the blood cancer community are heard. Colleen is committed to ensuring timely and equitable access to treatment for all Canadians affected by blood cancers.
